As I have mentioned before one of the easiest ways to grow your business is through networking.  It is a great way to sell yourself in person and make great contacts for potential business, career development and referrals. However, you have just a few seconds to make the right impact, with your elevator pitch.  It is called an elevator pitch because you should be able to explain what you do in the time it takes the lift to move from one floor to the next – less than 30 seconds.

Picture this: You are dressed the part, you have a pocket full of business cards and you are in a room full of like minded entrepreneurs – the gateway to more customers and potential referrals.  The icing on the cake is to be able to introduce yourself with clarity and passion, convey the benefits of your product or service and keep it short all at the same time. How do you do that? With practice.

There are 3 things to note about your elevator pitch.

It must be short

You must say it with enthusiasm and

It must convey the benefits or value to the listener.

When you have finished delivering your elevator pitch, you are hoping to be asked “How do you do that?” or “Tell me more?”
